Apostle Joseph Akeem Akharume is originally from Benin, Edo state in Nigeria where he accepted God into his life at 16 years of age. Shortly after, he traveled to the United States to pursue his education in Criminal Justice/Pre-Law at Jackson Start University. While at Jackson State he felt God’s call to ministry on his life and he went on to earn his master’s degree in Christin Leadership and Theology at Theological Seminary. After he earned his master’s degree in divinity, God called Apostle to do his work in the United States where he was called to Pastor in 2003 and the Power of God Church of Deliverance Worldwide opened its doors. God called him to return back to Nigeria, where he was active in spreading the Word of God and held bi-weekly services in various locations across the continent of Africa. After 2 years, God miraculously opened a door that had once been shut and blessed him with a new service location in Africa. On October 18, 2015 Power of God Church of Deliverance Worldwide worshipped for the first time in their new home location of Jackson, Mississippi.
While doing the work of the Lord, Apostle met his wife Pastor Kay Onu Akharume, through their immediate junior siblings who are both Pastors in Africa and the two married in December 2016. Pastor Kay has a Bachelor’s degree from Kaplan University IOWA and is the director of the Women on the Wall- Mississippi. Apostle and Pastor Kay Akharume are the proud parents of son Jesse Akharume. Also, children Derreck McMillian and Sidi O. Akharume, of Jackson MS from a previous marriage. They have one granddaughter Amyah A. Akharume.
